PMental Health 101 - The bottom line
About Mental health
As in physical health, mental health is an individual's responsibility, then family, then societal to care for. It consists of what you cannot control, and what you can control. For example, a chemistry-related stimulus is beyond one’s control thereby resulting in a negative emotional or behavioral response which may not have been preventable, unless treated, but barring any such stimulus setbacks then a negative emotional or behavioral response would be considered avoidable or preventable.
So, if one diligently takes treatment then it is commendable. If one does not need treatment then one’s responsibility also includes managing the stimulus signals one receives. For example, if someone belittle’s or scolds, or behaves with negative energy towards you then for your mental health you must consistently avoid receiving such signals. The responsibility for this mindset or change belongs to the one who is getting hurt. In other words, retreating from, and avoiding that which is harmful emotionally, intellectually, and behaviorally would be the desired action(s) to take towards maintaining one's mental health.
Until next time.
