Introduction
Some say politics is a dirty game. Some prefer not to mess with politics. Some may claim to hate it and so forth. Let's break this concept down to it's manageable pieces.
Politics in the Home
Politics actually is about control, yielding to another, not yielding to another as in unyielding, or negotiating for a win/win outcome. It starts in the home. Mom, Dad, and the Kids share some role of the Executive, the Congress, and the Judicial in its simplest form of natural decision-making. One hopes at the end of the day everyone agrees to agree or disagree while being respectful of each other. Everyone hopefully agrees that the decisions are made for the greater benefit of the family. It's not a struggle of power where the kids wish to take over the parents' executive decision-making or vice versa. Everyone grows to appreciate their role and place in the home.
Politics in the Workplace
At the job or workplace, the same type of politics exists. The owner or executive negotiates with the various department executives and management who themselves negotiate with the various operations experts and production teams. It's not a struggle for power where the production teams wish to take over the executive decision-making or vice versa. Everyone works to appreciate their role and place on the job.
Politics in the Government
In the government, the same type of politics exist! The difference though is that within a government there are two or more competing ideologies. While the negotiations should be done for the greater good of the entire country, it might still be debated as to whether the political negotiations are being done to suit one particular political ideology over another. Unlike home and work, perhaps in government it is always a struggle for power but it should really be much like at home or work.
As such, politics is here to stay with us. We have enough of it at home and at work and then some if we observe government. There is enough of it so be sure how to choose your politics and have fun. So, what's the real definition of Politics?
Politics - Definition
Politics is the discipline of equitably negotiating the wise use and sharing of resources for the good of ALL.
What Politics is Not
Politics is not for one set of people over another or for one ideology over another. Whatever the disparate ideologies and schools-of-thoughts, politics must be the single base of equity, justice, economy, and well-being of all of the constituents rather than a few.
