Dis-benefits of a Government Shutdown
Government is flexible yet a steward of leadership and management of any economy. A government is like a public or private organization that utilizes a complex system of resources to provide life, liberty, and justice for its society. Government is the system by which it's agreed upon that order will be conducted and chaos will be removed as a form of good governance and for the benefit of its constituents. As indicated in the preamble of the US Constitution “…insure domestic Tranquility…, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…”.
Why suspend this precious spirit and value of the Constitution? It can only result in harm.
An economy is the economic engine that society has developed over the years for its own benefit as well as that of its posterity. Perhaps developing and moving an economy forward is no different than guiding a huge ship in the ocean. It takes a while (unnecessarily high effort and high cost) to turn around or stop, and of course will take a while (necessary high effort and high cost) to turn around and move forward.
Why interfere or slow or reverse-around a hugely successful economy? It can only result in harm.
The government in its roles and responsibilities supports the economy as a conductor, broker, mediator, balancer, adjudicator, defender, and manager among many other attributes at the most critical levels or junctures of economic activity, governance, compliance, peace, and prosperity.
Why abdicate or suspend or put the brakes on the role of good government in the economy? It can only result in harm.
At what cost would it take, or what economic calamities must first befall before other leaderships in government are motivated to stem such harms?
