A trend of lower to zero deaths as the number of cases increase is the hope and objective. This rate is seen in the US Death to Cases Ratio.
Studying the progression of Covid-19
Potentially positive impact in US Covid19 Cases to Death as an inverse ratio made possible by social distancing and lockdown practice? As cases increase, the number of cases to 1 death widens. For example in the US it was death to cases 1:55, then 1:56 then 1:59 having started at about 1:32! In other words at the last reported total cases of 8693, it would take almost about 260 deaths to maintain a 1:32 death to case ratio but thankfully that's not the case. However, this inverse relationship or widening of cases-to-death does not seem to hold true for some other locations such as Italy at this time.
